How do I know what job I want?

If you’re feeling like you don’t know what job you want and are stuck in choosing a career path, one good method of finding out what you do want is using the following technique:

According to Abraham Hicks and their teachings of the Law of Attraction, when we focus on a certain feeling, we get more of it. To help you find out what job you do want, one method is to sit down and make a list of all the things you know you want in a general way. You may not know the specifics but you probably have a good idea of what you want generally.

Below is my personal list of things I know I like and want from a job. You can have a look at my ideas to help you make your own list to help clarify what you want too.

General ideas of what I want in a job

  1. I know I want to have the opportunity to expand, grow, learn, improve, evolve and keep moving up
  2. I know I want to feel that the work I do is useful, helpful and valuable to the world.
  3. I know I want to have fun and enjoy every day
  4. I know I want to have freedom of choice of which projects I take on, and freedom in when I work and how many hours I work.
  5. I Love to Expand Postcards

  6. I know I want to create new things that are unique, innovative and give something special that only I can give.
  7. I know I’d like to be able to work somewhere with a really small commute… if any!
  8. I know I’d like to work somewhere with a comfortable dress code
  9. I know I want to look forward to the work ahead each day with happy eagerness and anticipation for what is coming.
  10. I know I want to feel ease and flow at work. I want the path to unfold easily.
  11. I know I want to manifest solutions to any issues that come up easily and quickly.
  12. I know I want relatively quick, small projects that are easy to start and finish (rather than long-term projects that take years to finish).
  13. I know I want to uplift others and help them feel better as a result of my work.
  14. I know I want to experience / use humor and laughter as a regular part of my work day.
  15. I know I want to have kindness, consideration and even love as a regular part of my work day.
  16. I know I want to feel intellectually stimulated with interesting diversity of fun projects to do.
  17. I know I want to make good money from what I do.
  18. I know I want to build up a healthy stream of passive income coming in.
  19. I know I want to feel like I’m part of a community of creators with similar interests and passions to me.
  20. I know I want to be one of those people who enjoy their work so much that they are always interested to hear more about it, read more about it, talk more about it, think more about it, etc.
  21. I know I want to feel exhilirated and excited by my work.
  22. I know I want to be able to utilize my talents (as many of them as possible) in my job, to fulfil as much of my potential as possible.
  23. I know I want to feel certainty and confidence and at peace with my choice of work.

When you make a list like this, focusing on what you do want in general, the idea is that after a while of focusing positively in this way, it’s only a matter of time before an idea that is in line with your list will pop into your head or an opportunity will be manifested into your life because you are now more aligned with it.
